Ford Thunderbird

The Thunderbird roadster was first introduced at the 1954 Detroit Motor Show and the production started in the 9th of September. The two door roadster was designed by William P. Boyer and provided functionality of sport car with traditional for American cars comfort. Thunderbird was intended to compete with GM's Chevrolet Corvette. However Thunderbird was more like personal luxury car with decent performance than full sport car like its competitor. The original design of Thunderbird remained almost unchanged from 1955 to 1958 when Ford introduced completely new model. Since that year the model was no longer two-seater but four till the introduction of 2002 Thunderbird when Ford decided to return the original shape of 1955 model with modern design touch.
