- 2001 marks the introduction of the second generation of Oldsmobile Aurora. The overall dimensions of the car were reduced and the design was changed completely. The platform was changed and now Aurora shared its body with Buick LeSabre and Pontiac Boneville. New V6 engine (for the model) was added to the options. Both engines was coupled with 4-speed automatic transmission, manual transmission was not available.
