- Despite what you may have read, this book doesn't cover any Jeeps that Patton may have ridden in. It covers civilian jeeps (CJ's) only. It's not very useful for restoration because it doesn't offer enough detail on what was stock. Like most Chilton's, it assumes that you know the basics. It also has the usual typos and index problems.

- As an oldtimer who always dreamed of having a WWII Jeep and restoring it and who luckily finally got one I can safely say that this book is a must! Every section of the book is important to a restorer and it is complete, easy to follow and has terrific grahics. I wouldn't think of attempting a restoration without Chilton's Jeep CJ 1945-70 Repair Manual. Now to get back to work on that workhorse that carried Patton through the war and played a major part in the victory. Happy Restoring!
